How does the 30-day trial work?
Every install starts with 30 days of the complete extension — no card, no account, nothing to cancel. The popup tells you how many days are left once you are inside the last week.
What happens when the trial ends?
BookmarkWizard goes read-only rather than dark: search, browse, and open keep working, because those are your bookmarks and locking you out of them would be rude. Saving, editing, organizing, and deleting resume the moment you subscribe.
Why $3 a year?
It covers the license server, the domain, and the time to keep the extension working as Chrome changes — and it means the product answers to you rather than to an advertiser. There is no higher tier and no upsell; $3 buys all of it.
How many devices does one subscription cover?
Three. Activate the same key in Settings on each browser; if you run out of slots, free one from the license portal — sign in with the Google account you paid with.
Do my bookmarks ever leave my device?
No. Bookmarks are read and written through Chrome’s own API and never transmitted anywhere. Favicons come from Chrome’s local cache. The extension’s only network calls are license checks, which send a license key and a random device id — nothing about the pages you visit or save.
What permissions does it need, and why?
bookmarks (managing them is the whole point), favicon (site icons from Chrome’s local cache), storage (settings, open folders, and your license), activeTab (the current tab’s title and URL when you hit the star), alarms (a once-a-day license check), and access to api.bookmarkwizard.app for the license itself. It has no access to the pages you browse.
Can I cancel? Is there a refund?
Cancel any time from the Stripe receipt link or by emailing support — you keep the extension until the year you paid for runs out. If it is not for you, ask within 30 days of a charge and you get a full refund, no interrogation.
Which browsers does it work in?
Chromium browsers — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and friends. It is a Manifest V3 extension; a Firefox port is on the roadmap.
Can I still use the bookmarks bar?
Of course — BookmarkWizard doesn’t touch it. It just makes the bar unnecessary: everything the bar does is in the popup, one click or one Alt+B away.
